Copers, instrumental

Rejected persons who do well in their professions, occupations, and other task-oriented activities, but whose emotional and overall psychological adjustment  is impaired as defined in PARTheory's personality subtheory and in the acceptance-rejection syndrome. These individuals maintain high levels of task competence and occupational performance despite living with the expectable psychological consequences of parental rejection. (See copers, affective)
